Physical Safety Overview

Feeling physically safe was a prerequisite to any feelings of welcome and belonging. Spaces in which students felt physically secure allowed a level of privacy with some physical barriers separating them from others (preferably behind their backs) yet affording views across the space and long lines of vision. Ability to see and hear others occupying adjacent spaces was also important.
